It’s on

This is the gun I’ll be shooting at Blackwater, roughly.  It’s the Para 1911 LTC in 9mm.

With higher capacity, less recoil and a cartridge that’s been a world favorite for more than a century, this new 9mm LTC is destined to become an instant classic. It features a 4.25-inch ramped match barrel, 9+1 rounds of firepower and Para’s non-reflective Covert Black finish.

I believe that I may be the only person who elected to shoot a 9mm, which apparently makes me a girl.

What can I say, unlike some people I don’t feel the need to compensate for poor marksmanship with a bigger bullet.  :D

    I’ll be shooting the nine.

    Which is froofier: a 9mm 1911 or an LDA trigger? I know my answer to that. :D

    Yeah, if I’d known we had a single-action option, I might’ve held my nose and shot something chambered for the EUropellet. Oh well, maybe it will help with my double-action revolver accuracy!

    Which, in my overly caffeinated state read like

    “and Para’s non-effective Covert Black finish.”

    I’ve never tried the LDA, but so far from everything I’ve read (including people who thought the TAC-FOUR was junk), the trigger was the best thing about the pistol.

    On my Dan Wesson, the trigger pull is measured in metric tonnes, so anything less than my own body weight feels light and crisp…

    Hmmm….

    I might have to bring my Kimber Classic for a comparison. The trigger on it is outstanding, and I’ve never done a thing to it. Even when I swapped in a Cylinder & Slide Safety-Fast kit, the trigger pull was unaffected.

    I think you have that backwards. People compensate for poor marksmanship with the 9mm, because they have more chances to hit with the same sized gun ;)

    On that note, my first carry gun was a 9mm.

    Personally, I prefer a 45, but shot placement is the most important thing. I know people who are more dangerous with a 22 than most people are with a larger caliber.
