He nailed one dog square in the side, total side on shot, and the dog ran about 20 feet and started thrashing about. FMJ's pierced it, but didn't do a whole lot of wounding. Sure the dog died after a minute of thrashing about, and it was grim... but the performance was as expected... minimal.
