This one is for all my friends still on active duty with the Coast Guard. One of the coolest and most thoughtful gifts I recieved this year was from the in-laws, who sprung for the USCG Operation Iraqi Freedom special edition Ka-Bar.
As you can see from images, the knife is a legit Ka-Bar, one of only 900 produced for this run. On the blade, there are multiple images of the most common Coast Guard presence in Iraq: a 110 foot cutter, a 27 foot patrol boat, and an armed Hummvee.
Many people forget that the Coast Guard, despite being the smallest branch of the Armed Forces has served in every major armed conflict from WW1 on – including Afghanistan and Iraq. Semper Paratus, guys.

Great gift!
Nice blade. Those Coasties we worked with over in the Gulf were definitely some of the most decent and responsible seamen over there… Especially after we small-boated over a VCR and a tape of the Super Bowl :).
Very nice!
