Tam and pdb both have excellent discussions about the video that recently posted by American Defense Enterprises which showcases a myriad of things you shouldn’t do at training schools. pdb’s takedown is epic. As is so often the case, when subjected to actual scrutiny from people who know what they’re talking about, ADE pulled the video off youtube, likely forestall any further criticism. Thankfully, this is the internet, and someone had already downloaded the video and put it to a more…appropriate soundtrack.
Brilliant.

I haven’t laughed that hard in a while.
Are the exaggerated head movements after shooting to illustrate their aware of their surroundings or something?
No, their ripping off Magpul moves and doing them poorly.
Yakkity Sax made it brilliant.
I was hoping for Yakkity Sax. Made my day.
You gotta do some research into the instructors. This is a great video to watch. A combat handgun instructor explains her vast last of experience and handgun ownership.

Man is my spelling and grammar crappy today. A little research in Bill Beasley yields pretty much nothing. This guy just kind of appeared one day from the gunfighter heavens and opened a so called school. The lack of bios on the site is amazing. Especially funny is when he claims his instructors shoot 5-9 shots a second. Are they actually hitting anything? When you look at Dave Sevigny’s F.A.S.T splits, they are not that fast. So somehow this group of actors and singers are faster than a professional world class shooter.
Anything is possible when you just pull the numbers out of the usual location.
I watched the Aysha Webb bio. She seems like she knows a thing or two, but to be associated with ADE, kinda ruins one’s credibility.
also, somebody needs to track down this Natalie Foster person, and explain what morons these folks are, and by associating with them, by proxy, it makes here appear moronic as well. Watching her vid going through a “shoot house” where she continually sweeps her lower extremities if painful, not least of which the errors in shooting angles and whatnot.
I’m actually having lunch with her right now.
if you’re referring to Foster, you might ask her why she took a class with, what seems like, the very folks people have been lamenting!
if I’m mistaken, I apologize, but it looks like the same people in this vid: http://vimeo.com/13848131
re: Aysha Webb,
Don Gwinn hit the nail on the head in his comment at “Only Guns And Money”.
I kinda feel sorry for her. That Bill putz is using her every bit as much as he’s using any of the yutzes he’s bilking for “training”.
Seriously, can you see Todd or Larry or Travis walking up to a new shooter at a class and saying “Wow, you’re a natural! Would you like to be an instructor on my team?”
Of course not, because Todd, Larry, Travis, et al are reputable instructors who don’t need a hot chick to drive students to their class.
Which is what makes this kind of tragic, because her only crime in all of this is getting taken in by a douchebag.
Something tells me that she’s old enough to know better. The music and entertainment industry is full of con men. She should have had an education in this field of scams. If she can’t spot a con man or a casting couch scam, then she gets what she gets. Now shes being laughed at for the nonsense she put out there in videos.
The” look around after you are finished shooting” policy is a good idea, but this video appears to greatly exaggerate the process.
The best way I have found is to make a habit of being aware of your surroundings is to get a bunch of friends to ask you to describe what is behind you, to the side, etc. at irregular intervals over a long period of time (months) If you can’t do it, you have to give them a dollar. This will get you into the habit of observing whats going on around you without looking like a hoot owl that just woke up.
Wouldn’t “send in the clowns” have been a better soundtrack?
That was awesome, I don’t know why but to me it looked like Russian spetsnaz training, those guys were good.
They weren’t diving through rings of fire. How can anyone be good without diving through rings of fire?
