Smith & Wesson’s new clothing line

Yesterday I had the opportunity to look at Smith & Wesson’s new clothing line and I am extremely impressed.

Smith & Wesson made a successful but fashionable throwback to their old-school American heritage, taking designs straight from their firearms and integrating them into their clothing. For example, the zipper pull on the red jacket I became enamored with is designed to look like the hammer of a firearm. The design on the back of the blue shirt I fell in love with? Off of some Smith & Wesson revolver grips. Recognize the tag on the inside of the shirts? It’s an old Smith & Wesson design that has been around for years. The buttons on the jackets are detailed with a small Smith & Wesson logo. The tags are designed from Smith & Wesson cartridge boxes from World War II. It’s all subtle enough to be missed by most people, but still a great tribute to the industry.

Smith & Wesson also did a fantastic job designing their new clothes. They are cut, fashionable and comfortable. They have a variety of jackets and shirts to fit shooter’s needs and desires. The red jacket? Equipped with 11 pockets, including those made for concealed carry. The soft shell jacket? Padded on the shoulders and elbows for shooters. The tactical pants? Fitted with stretchy soft shell knees that won’t rip but will provide for ease of movement.

What I like the most about the clothes? They are made like women’s clothes. They are women’s clothes that have been adapted for women who shoot. Not men’s clothes that have been resized and called women’s. I have a sneaking suspicion the new Smith & Wesson line is exactly what I’ve been looking for.
