Gun Nuts Q&A

February 14, 2012
By

We get email sent to us at gunnutsradio@gmail.com as well as questions and comments via Facebook, twitter, etc. Today, I’ve selected a few of the gems from the questions and will answer them on the blog. Here we go!

  • Question:Dear Gun Nuts, where is Shelley? Her posts were the best.
  • Answer: She’s out of town working on a big awesome project, you creepy internet stalker.
  • Question: Can u help me buy machineguns off the record?
  • Answer: Not a chance in hell!  In fact, I’m going to forward this email with full headers to my buddy who works for the ATF. (editor’s note: if you send me emails asking me to help you break the law, I’ll forward your email to the authorities.)
  • Question: Why did you pick the Glock 21?  Is it because Glock’s are the awesomest?
  • Answer: I am committed to shooting CDP in IDPA competition for an entire year.  After shooting 10k rounds through a 1911, I decided I didn’t want to do that because they’re too fussy.  Someone else already shot an HK45 to a jillion rounds, and no one was shooting a Gen4 Glock 21 so it was a no-brainer.  Glocks, HKs, and M&Ps are all basically interchangeable, you could hand me any of the three and say “shoot 100,000 rounds through this as your only gun” and I’d say “okay.”  They’re all just hammers to me.
  • Question: What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?
  • Answer: (No joke, that was an actual question submitted) Clearly, if you’re eating ice cream and it’s not mint chocolate chip, you’re doing it wrong.  You might even be a communist.
  • Question: Why do you hate Kel-Tec so much?
  • Answer: I don’t hate Kel-Tec.  I hate that they actually make interesting and innovative designs, but their quality control process can best be described as “meh”; I hate that they let their end user be the product tester for their designs, I hate that they can’t actually get their guns to market in any sort of reasonable time frame.  If Kel-Tec decided tomorrow to be a real gun company with proper quality control, I would change my tune.  But seeing as the only guns I’ve ever actually seen blow up in person have been Kel-Tecs, I’ll continue to stay away.

That’s it for today’s Q&A, if you have questions you’d like us to answer, send them to me at gunnutsradio@gmail.com, or hit us up on twitter at twitter.com/gunnutsmedia - next time I’ll make Shelley answer the questions!

    I’m a girl. I can’t answer questions.

    • Lon on February 14, 2012 at 12:34

      Shouldn’t that be “I’m a girl. I don’t have to.”

Ice cream question, possibly funniest thing you have ever written.

+1 on the Mint Chocolate Chip

    • ExurbanKevin on February 14, 2012 at 11:08

The grip angle of mint chocolate chip doesn’t fit me. I prefer chocolate chip cookie dough because it fits my stomach better.

All of these ice cream flavors are not nearly operator enough. Double chocolate is the only way to go. Tactical black, just like my HK. No Compromises.

        • Brian N. on February 14, 2012 at 12:27

In a world of compromises, some people use the wrong end of the ice cream scoop.

Double Chocolate Chip: You suck and we hate you.

Don’t you dare limp wrist that ice cream scoop.

      • Thor on February 14, 2012 at 11:37

I just blew Mt. Dew out by nose. Too Funny.

I don’t eat mint chocolate chip and I am the antithesis to Communists, the anti-Communist, if you will–I spent the first half of my career trying to figure out new and grotesquely creative ways to make them die.

Cookies and cream is the most sublime of the available varieties.

    I like Kel Tecs.

But only the ones that say “Ruger” on the side…

Man, I forgot to submit my question in a timely manner.

“Why do Hi Point pistols have to work so well when they are so ugly?”

  6. Luke Johnson on February 14, 2012 at 14:30

LOL. This cracked me up. BTW; can you just help me out…just this once…and hook me up with a machinegun on the “DL”…pretty please? And BRING SHELLEY BACK! LOL. Keep up the good work Caleb.
