          And when I say “satirize, not … give offense”, I that implies a belief that it is both possible and desirable to satirize without intending or giving offense. I recognize that that belief is not normative or universal.

            Satire is fine. Being a dick is not. The problem is that in a written medium it’s frequently difficult to distinguish one from the other. You’re welcome to continue commenting here on Gun Nuts; I may have overreacted as we’ve seen more than our share of trolls lately.
