Everyone go read or get the Audible version of Gary Vaynerchuk's "The Thank You Economy" It's an excellent read/listen, and is a great example of how things NEED to be done going forward in the world of business.

Actually you are incorrect, in early 2011, all production was moved to Suhl, Germany. And the last shipment of 4 Caracal Fs my LGS recieved all had German proofmarks on them. Maybe Waffen Werks recieved a earlier shipment made pre-2011. The 4 I examined, all had test-firing dates of October 2011 written on the fired cartridge bag.

I've read that stuck cases can happen on AR-15s, if you run steel and then brass without cleaning. Supposedly the reason for this was that steel doesn't expand as much as brass and lets carbon into the chamber, which isn't a problem if you're just shooting steel. But if you use brass then it'll expand and get itself stuck to the carbon buildup.

I haven't tested that personally but it sounded plausible, at least more so than the polymer/lacquer melting off, which I haven't seen. Anyone experience this?

Will you be testing Tula rifle ammunition? I have 5.56 and 7.62 NATO ammunition from Tula. So far, no problems in the AR15 or the HK91, but I'd be interested in your testing some.

Good article.

Thats because that is a internet commando rumour. I have a M&P with over 2600 rounds of Wolf (old stock Wolf with the lacquer coating) and have never had any issues with it. Even firing brass cased ammo afterwords while the gun is still hot, which those commandos say should give me stuck cases. Guess what? It never happened. I also have a Palmetto State Armory mid upper right now that I am firing exclusively the white box Uly russian steel case through. I am around 1700 rounds through it and guess what....no issues.

As far as extractor wear, both of em look the exact same and work as new.

How much are extractors, like a maxiumum of $30? Im paying $189 a case for .223 and saving over $100 versus buying brass. Even in 9x19, I got the Wolf a few years ago for about $100/K, even going by todays price of an average of $175/K, Im still saving $, even if extractors need replaced.

I've heard a lot of comments about steel case ammo wearing out extracters, etc. but I've never seen an actual example.

Honestly, for the cup I'm probably going to run Hornady Steel Match for the actual event and save the TulAmmo for practice.

I can say without hesitation that I'll never do that test because shooting this much .40 of any type would suck. I loathe .40.
